    Oxford United Post Match Thoughts

A game of two halves with wind assistance? Made to pay for early missed chances or glad to hang on for the draw when under the cosh as the end? A point gained or two dropped? Whatever, it's one more in the unbeaten column and possibly still top tonight dependent upon the results of some late games. A busy week of cup action ahead before it's back to league action in 10 days against our old mate SE if he survives that long.

    Thoughts?

Glass half full on this one,it should have been 3points but nil against & a point will after do.

Had that been a home fixture then maybe a tad disappointed.

But it was away against a good team in good form, so happy.

So disappointing not to have won this after missing what I thought were three "sitters" in the first half.

The wind spoiled it a bit but we still managed some decent football especially in that first half. Oxford came into the game more after the break and put us under a bit of pressure. I thought the ref was a bit generous with his yellow cards, but we're getting used to these idiots aren't we ? I suppose it's a decent point away against a team who (like ourselves) are bang in form, but after our recent games it feels like a bit of a let down. We can't win 'em all I suppose. Oh and we're still top of the league so that's a bonus.

We've had a tremendously difficult schedule in Oct/Nov and come through it fantastically, standing at the top of the league. Very tight at the top now but December does look a bit easier (famous last words). The fact that we are so disappointed today after dominating (for most of the match) one of the form teams in the league shows how far we've come.

Horrid game to play in and watch. Good point in the end but Oxford had 7 players missing with Covid, better weather(no wind) then i think we beat them easy. 1st goal oh so important, we had good chances in the 1st half to get it. Freddie still plays like Bambi on ice and virtually disappeared in the 2nd half.
Still 0 in the against column and 1 good point, what could have disappeared late on. We still look a solid side but make some really poor descisions...............bring on SE....
Ipswich and Oxford away =4 pts, take it every time.....................up the millers.

Not our best performance should have been all over at half time, left our shooting boots at home.

That said difficult conditions and the unbeaten run continues

You can’t fault them today. It was all set up for a slip up. The wind was a massive factor but you have to give Oxford United credit for playing these fixtures with players out.
They had a siege mentality and we know all about that, maybe rode their luck but got a well deserved point.
We did not lose, we are still top of the league, still unbeaten for ages so we are in a great position.
