    No escape.

I suppose it just had to happen, 3 PM yesterday, the ref blows his whistle to start the Clitheroe v Trafford game, except the game didn't start, the ref sank onto one knee, so did all the Trafford players, some of the Clitheroe players kneeled as well, a few just stood there looking bemused, this had clearly happened at the instigation of the Trafford players. It all happened so quickly that I didn't even have time to think about booing the virtue-signalling w@nkers. But I'll be ready next time.

I trust it didn’t happen to applause from all round the ground as match commentators at premier league fixtures keep reminding us.

No it didn't Outwood, it's never happened before and I'm sure it took everyone by surprise, there was no applause or booing, I suspect everyone was like me thinking WTF ?

My old mate Jimmy Clitheroe thought they were all kneeling in reverence to the Castle, but what does he know?

sinkov, surely Jimmy Clitheroe used to take the knee didn't he? It must have been a rumour that he was only 4ft 2in tall ---even my mum was taller than that.
If you are like me, they won't expect you to take the knee because it woudl be half time before you could stand up again

    You are possibly right BT.
For me to go out in that snow yesterday lunch time to try and watch a football match, I am either bonkers or dedicated. The answer would depend on who I was talking to at the time.
