Andy Carroll joined Liverpool in 2010, just turned 21 years of age, a top earner
in the premier, to go with the £35m transfer fee, with Carroll reported to have
been on £80,000 a week.
The player joined West Ham United on loan, with a permanent transfer deal of
£15m in 2013, a record transfer deal for West Ham United, with a 6 year contract,
with minimum wages matching his Liverpool salary.
But injuries to Carroll meant he only had 62 league starts in 6 years.
He signed for Newcastle United has a free agent in 2019, with a small reported
guaranteed wage of £20,000 a week.

Carroll now signed for championship club Reading on a 2 month deal, up to mid
January 2022.
Reading are on a transfer embargo due to breaching financial rules, so the club
are on a strict limitation on squad salary .
The EFL granted a budget of £1,000 a week salary for Carrolls wages, with the
restrictions on the club.
Andy Carroll accepted the the £1,000 a week salary, to get his career back on
track.
If Reading lose players in the January transfer window, thus dropping the clubs
salaries, they may be able to increase Carrolls wages, but if Carroll can regain
decent form, he could decide to go to another club.

Crazy isn't it. Then again there is a player in the NBA who is being paid $44 million this season alone who doesn't play. He is fit and healthy to play but the team don't want him to because they want to develop youngsters whilst losing (don't ask). He would put the losing side of that at risk. Oh and next season he will be getting $47 million for the same situation at this rate. He won't leave and give up some money (why should he) and nobody will take his contract on. That will be a cool $231 million dollar career and he will still only be 32 time that contract ends. Not bad work. Travels and watches the games on the bench, happy days.
