Thread: Islamophobia in the UK.

  1. #1

    Islamophobia in the UK.

Are we really Islamophobic in the UK?

    https://www.msn.com/en-gb/health/med...?ocid=msedgntp.

I can easily recall witnessing the arrival of men arriving from South East Asia in the early sixties and working in the cotton mills in Accrington.

Sixty years on and I ask are we guilty of still not understanding or tolerating Muslims?

I would like to say here in 'the Holy land'. We know something about Muslims. Lets start with ''Houston we have a problem!''

Muslims around the world agree that Islam is the one true faith that leads to salvation. Many Muslims also say it is their religious duty to convert others to Islam. ( will you convert to Islam ? This year or the next?)
In most countries surveyed, at least half of Muslims believe it is their religious duty to try to convert others to the Islamic faith.

A majority of Muslims in the South Asian countries surveyed also say trying to convert others to Islam is a religious duty.
In only seven of the 38 countries where the question was asked do at least half of Muslims describe conflict between religious groups as a very big national problem, and in most cases worries about crime, unemployment, ethnic conflict and corruption far outweigh concerns about religious conflict. But a substantial minority of Muslims in a number of countries surveyed do see religious strife as a major issue.

A minority of Muslims in 24 of the 26 countries where the question was asked say “most” or “many” Muslims and Christians are hostile toward one another.

Relatively few Muslims count non-Muslims among their close friends. And in most countries surveyed, few are comfortable with the idea of their son or daughter marrying outside the faith.
In 22 countries outside sub-Saharan Africa, the survey asked Muslims how comfortable they would be with the idea of their son or daughter marrying a Christian. Overall, relatively few Muslims find the idea of inter-marriage acceptable.

Muslims, currently the second-largest major religious group, are expected to surpass Christians in number by 2050.

In Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus ,Christians are leaving ,or have left ,because of ....yes, you have guessed it

A revelation is a revelation to the first person only, to all others it is hearsay. To claim the message is perfection and that therefore all else is either irrelevant or heretical is to tread on dangerous ground. Does that make me an Islamophobe? Pop that into a definition? The question really BT is not whether we tolerate Islam but what does Islam tolerate?

Two posts in and I think I have found the answer to the thread's question.

I deliberately asked about Islamophobia in the UK Balan.

The cultural and religious difficulties you experience in Israel are far more testing and complex than we encounter over here.

Great ! BT , but not sure who you asked ,local Brits or Muslims? But take notice. 'Taqiyya' is a component of Sharia that allows, and even encourages you to lie to achieve your goals.

“Whoever expresses disbelief in God after having accepted belief [will suffer greatly] – except him who is forced while his heart is still at peace in belief” Koran(16:106)

“Let not the believers take unbelievers for their allies in preference to believers. Whoever does this has no connection with God, unless you but guard yourselves against them as a precaution.” Koran, (3:28)

A lot of Jews are not Zionists Balan, same goes for Muslims here in the UK. Some adhere fanatically to the Quran, while others would rather whiz up and down in high powered cars and drive the rest of us crazy.

Do we have the right to question the message and the messenger? The answer must be yes in both instances. If Islamophobia is rooted in racism then are there any specific measures which are necessary which do not already apply in cases of racism or discrimination?
