Sort of on this theme, my mind is taken back to the Millennium new years eve. A couple of years earlier we had done a tour of Scotland . including a visit to the Glennturret distillery where in a moment of bravado I bought a bottle of their 30 year old single malt for the forthcoming special occasion. We then lived on a cul-de-sac where it didn't take much excuse for a street party so the Millennium one was going to be a grand affair. All the prep was complete and we were using a small hut in the neighbours garden for storing the drink.
Just before midnight I went to get the whiskey only to discover it wasn't on the shelf where Id left it. Id noticed this elderly woman stood outside the shed when i went in and as i turned round she was spitting out a mouthful of 30 year old whisky while emptying the contents of a large tumbler onto the lawn , in her other hand was a half full bottle of whisky she said she had mistaken for a bottle of wine.
I cant remember the exact names I called her, oddly, she thought it was quite funny.

Into Jack Daniels Fire at the moment .
