Event build up thread: Russia v Ukraine

Not long to go now, warm up on the border nearly complete. Looks like Joe Biden is the BITB and not sure how that is going down with manager Putin.

Looks like a standard battle formation for the Russians.

Overwhelm the opposition with an initial show of force before completing a pincer movement and reinforcing defences.

Too early for the nuclear option. That is the equivalent of sending the keeper up to try and get a last minute winner from a corner 2-1 down in a cup final.

I think maybe the Ukraine had had its fill of nuclear stuff.

I see the G7 are meeting in Liverpool to discuss this issue. Over to you Liz Truss.

I have full confidence in the Canadian Foreign Minister.

Is Boris trying to annoy them by making them go to Liverpool?

Depending on what day you look at the news either positive talks have been held to de-escalate tensions or embassy staff are being pulled out as they feel fighting is imminent.

I predict a few skirmishes lasting a week or so before all sides settle for a boring no score draw.

Well, they've been trying to box Russia in for years now with their anti Russian alliances.

Whatever the Ukraine is, it's nowhere near the north atlantic.

It's time the "west" brought their aggressive policies up to date.
They're not dealing with the USSR any longer, and haven't been for 30 years.

    I can't believe it's been over 30 years.

Russia has been engaging in hybrid warfare with the West for over a decade. They won before anyone noticed.

Is that where they replaced their tanks with Toyota Prius (Prii?)?
