Old style managers like Bruce have it drilled into them that it’s hard to score a goal so after taking the lead, they sit back and play (what they think) is the percentage game.
Today, the players are so much better technically and physically this is no longer the case and, if you sit back and offer not even a counter attack threat it’s a matter of time till the equalizer comes.
