Aww no what a shame, this is unbelievable news.
He always made me feel welcome on here, especially on the 'Days other games' threads where he seemed genuinely pleased for me when my own team were doing well.
We wil miss you Alto mate.

How very true Acido, we will really miss him he was such a genuine guy, he even liked the Lions, but a stalwart of the boards with over 34,000 posts and his last one with all the details about Palace. Now we play Crystal Palace in the FA Cup in Jan and I will say a prayer for him at the game. You played a good game Alto and we will miss you...........Life is what you make it, Dream as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow.

Thanks to all you lads for your kind comments, some of you I know through the footymad boards ie Alf, Claw, Acido. Mike was a true Claret who loved Burnley football club and spent I guess thousands of hours on Claret footymad (he was a very slow typer LOL) so can I ask the Admin and or moderators if they would change the title of this thread to “Mike (Altobelli) RIP” and make this thread into a sticky please? Mike is a Legend of this board who should not be forgotten. His funeral is scheduled for Friday 14th January in Ess ex. Thank you lads in anticipation of agreeing to my request, Mike would appreciate it. RIP Mike you will never be forgotten.

Only just been informed by Gaz1959. Such sad news indeed. Met Mike on several occasions and he was a really lovely bloke. I was hoping to see him again, but alas that will never be.

You were a great mate and I will miss you

    Graham (Oldtimeram)

    RIP Alto

I was giving this matter some serious thought before the last lazaat post.

Mike created a Sticky for his old mate David Reid and if we were to carry on with this tradition, the forum will be full of dedicated "sticky" threads to members who have made their final pass.

Altobelli created hundreds of posts on this forum and his contribution is there for all to see. This week we have lost another Claret great when Jimmy Robson passed away at the age of 82. Death is just part of living and I suggest we carry on with individual threads to honour and remember people who were the very fabric of Burnley Football Club, either fans or players.

I intended to change the David Reid Sticky into one entitled the "Last Post". In that way we can add the name of people who have contributed to the Clarets' cause into one all inclusive final Sticky.

Players such as Jimmy McIlroy, John Connelly, Ray Pointer and lads like Altobelli all placed in one final resting place on Clarets Mad.

Does that sound like a plan?

I understand the logic of what you say but the individual posts in each thread will then disappear down the board, but probably best to let the Burnley lads decide? I asked for his thread to be made into a sticky because he made such a massive contribution over the years to this board. Thanks for considering my request Ken whatever you decide.
