Yes I did say Martin Scott was well before Mattock.
Martin also retired early through injury when he played at Sunderland, retired in 1999.
Indeed Paul Dillon was a decent player.

Reece James was a left back loanee that Steve Evans signed, wasn't with us long.

Can't offhand think of any other left back at 5foot with black hair.

Topsy. What did they call t hat lb we had as a youth player. He was only about 5ft tall. Black hair. Not bad in the few cup games he played when the ball was on the floor. Just got bullied/targeted in the air. Prob just before mattock came

That's the lad. Though he looked decent in the cup games. Very lightweight and was clear he would not make it Vs decent teams league 1 or above. Time to Google what happened to him

At least he's still playing cayton, albeit at a lower level.
A lot of the youngsters don't make the grade unfortunately.
