Nottingham Forest full back Jayden Richardson has joined us on a month’s loan.
The 21-year-old is highly thought of at the City Ground and has made two Sky Bet Championship appearances so far this season, coming off the bench to face Middlesbrough and Huddersfield, while he played 90 minutes against Wolves and Bradford in the EFL Cup.
Richardson also has plenty of first-team experience from season-long loan spells in League Two with Exeter City and Forest Green Rovers.
And head coach Ian Burchnall is delighted to have him on board for our upcoming games.
“Jayden is quite versatile – he can play out wide and also on the right of a back three,” said Burchnall. “He’s very quick, direct and athletic.
“It’s great to get another player in who can offer something a bit different.
“I’ve seen quite a lot of Forest’s Under 23s and Jayden’s a really good player who’s had some useful loans at Exeter and Forest Green, where he did really well.
“We’ve built a really good relationship with Forest and, having played them on Friday in an in-house game, we had a chat after and felt this would be a really good move for all parties.
“We need to look at the squad at the end of the loan – but it certainly gives us a chance to look at Jayden and vice versa to see if it’s a good fit.”
Richardson will wear squad number 26.

Another rhs full back though….take it the other new full back isn’t up to scratch?
Anyway, welcome to Notts!

The feeling on their board is that he's way to good for the National League and we've done well to get him. Well done to whoever got this deal sorted, and hope he gets a few games whilst with us.
What I like is that he’s already got experience playing at a higher level; feels like a bit of a coup to get him.
Let’s hope he’s better than the last young RWB called Richardson we signed on loan - Kenton Richardson from Sunderland last season. He had one poor game (v Halifax) and then got injured, IIRC.
Yeah, I remember watching this particular L2 play-off game and thinking how good he was. If he plays to that level it will definitely be great at NL level.

Wonder if we will see him play at RCB and move Brindley to full back?
A month's loan...maybe IB has one particular match and match-up in mind. Miller at Chesterfield, locking him up on one end and exploiting his weakness at another?
