Bring back (at almost any cost), Alioski and Roofe and survival is guaranteed.

And if you could persuade Saiz to be more settled, I'd have him back with the other two.

Gelhardt plays mainly as a robust 'striker' but can also play the second striker as at Wigan where he often played on the wing as a attacking-midfielder - so was seen as versatile prospect addition as he's not the tallest at 5'9 to lead the line.

Presently the U23's strikers are Sam Greenwood, Max Dean & Gelhardt in the 19 man squad including 2 keepers, one being Klaesson the first team bench keeper.

So IF the Fernandez deal is done he'll go into U23 set up & if you understand how MB 'works his players in' maybe the proposed deal is not so confusing or bizarre.

Obviously players come in & out & loans options to - but for me Joffy is first team ready but football throws up many equations deal wise as Leeds fans know well.

Consider the 'mysteries of the Leeds Utd mega money men' ?

Well, anyones bet if the 49ers chuck a wedge in come Jan 2022.

But if our American friends want to buy Rad out then they'll have to cough up his hefty shares profit gains for the shares he owns for starters & as the amount of tax he'll be charged falls into higher-rate taxpayer they'll have to pay his 20% in CGT for sure. [You'll only need to pay tax if your profit, or gain, is more than the capital gains tax allowance. In the 2021-22 tax year, this is £12,300 as you'll no doubt know Billy & others to].
Unlike the mega rich Saudis or Roman Abramovich, the 49ers are a sports franchise just like Leeds. So the 49ers won't finalize any major deals where money actually changes hands, until after the NFL season is over. That won't be until the end of January, early February. So it won't impact January transfer window.

Family behind them is said to be worth about $4B - they set up the Enterprises Company to maximise revenue by making investments.

They seem to be sensible and well run which augers well.

Lots of Tax rules in football nowadays globally for sure.

The transfer of a football player between football clubs is, for corporation tax purposes, the disposal of an intangible asset. Yep, the gain on the disposal can be reinvested into new player acquisitions on the making of a reinvestment relief claim but where players are acquired from a Spanish club via the so-called buyout clause, additional care is needed to ensure that no adverse employment tax consequences arise. Clubs also now need to consider if image rights payments are subject to royalty or annual payment withholding taxes.

FFP/Profitability and Sustainability rules obviously kick in regarding in's & out's. Any loss here is not the 'same as the accounting losses' published by clubs, as some costs such as infrastructure, academy, community and women's football - are excluded and obviously Rad has made full use of that has he not, so maybe he has some Jan '22 spare hidden/found 'sofa change' bagged & ready.

Only thing guaranteed with Roofe back would be one more frequently in the treatment room

He did quite well for us when in the Championship (before and after Bielsaball was introduced), at least as well as the club record signing.

Have a feeling business will be done as big clubs swoop on some players eg Raph, Phillips, Meslier.
It's ok will have Roberts and recalls of Kiko and costa to look forward 2.

Roofe is too injury prone and the other two aren’t good enough if we want to improve signifcantly. Saiz has been a disaster since the trauma in his personal life for very understandable reasons.

Breretin Diaz is knocking them in for fun, strong and skilful and young so will develop further.

They need two decent solid midfielders who don’t give the ball away stupidly.

Above all we need the injured to be healed and stay fit so that we can get continuity.

Even City, Liverpool and Chelsea would be hugely deminished with 11 first team players out.
Liverpool lost two key players last year and struggled to compete at that top.

We have the core of the squad that looked crap under Heckingbottom still and most of those aren’t good enough to allow us to take the next step and some are now old in football terms.

The running element of Bielsaball favours under 30s. Klich seems to struggle in games second half to track back.

And all the recent imports have been so world class? I (and many others) would have Alioski back in place of Firpo in a heartbeat, Roofe may be "delicate" (although I'm not sure about that, having survived two seasons under Bielsa and prospered, unlike a number of our current brood), but when he plays, he scores, unlike the vast majority of our new crop, and who is to say we couldn't be the salve to Saiz's issues? We've spent a shedful of money to get sweet f00k all capability, those three would be relatively inexpensive by comparison.
