    January Transfer Window

As the January Transfer Window approaches we dare to hope that a reshuffling of the squad can bring us better fortune on the field of play.
A bad run of results with three straight defeats has seen us drop down the table, with shocking defending and tactics responsible for us shipping eight goals in those three defeats.
Why are we persisting with our wing backs playing too high up the field and exposing our defenders to the counter-attack, especially our left hand side, from which most of the goals have been conceded recently.
Established players like Fulton and Bidwell have been sidelined as Martin stubbornly perseveres with his set formation and tactics that have been easily rumbled by the opposition.
Maybe this Omicron enforced break from matches will make him see sense. The QPR match is off today due to Covid and Millwall on Boxing Day is likely to go the same way as London clubs bear the brunt of the outbreak so far.
A rumoured 25% of PL/EFL players are unvaccinated, surely they are obligated to protect themselves and take the jab as part of their job?
With further restrictions on attendances at football matches likely in the coming days it’s a nervous time for hospitality venues and any venue for large gatherings.
The transfer window will possibly see us lose many of our players to enable Martin to bring in the reinforcements he thinks will be suitable to play his style of football.
Players in the naughty corner who are likely to depart are Fulton, Bidwell, Dhanda, Whittaker and Walsh, and loanee Rhys Williams returning early to Liverpool.
MK Dons goalkeeper Andy Fisher has been mentioned as our first possible signing with both Hamer and Benda failing badly between the sticks this season.
Leicester are rumoured to have been watching Joel Piroe. If he goes we are in trouble, with back-up Obafemi turning out to be a disaster of a signing and Cullen unable to take his chances we have only Paterson capable of scoring goals.

Ethan Laird recalled and going on loan to Bournemouth.
IMO nothing to do with money but the failure of Martin’s system at Swansea and our lowly league position.
Now we know what it felt like for Charlton when we snatched Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher from them and he came to us on loan for the second half of the season. Karma.

Morgan Whittaker has gone on loan to Lincoln until the end of the season to get game time.
Kyle Joseph has been recalled early from his season long loan at League One Cheltenham.
No word on any new incomings to date.
Goalkeeper seems to be the priority with current first choice Hamer costing us goals recently, and Benda out of favour.

    Crucial month for transfers.
Four defeats in the last six games have shown we cannot play the system Martin wants with the players we’ve got.
We’ve gone from play-off finalists to relegation candidates in half a season under this coach.
Some fans say give him time but I am worried this guys stubbornness in playing only one way, his way, will take us down and he’ll ride off into the sunset with a compensation package and leave us trying to pick up the pieces in League One with a bunch of ex-MK Dons players he’s transferred in.

Morgan Whittaker scored for Lincoln on his loan debut yesterday. He also scored a hat trick in the Cup for us this season.
Meanwhile we are stuck with Obafemi and Cullen who can’t muster a goal between them!
