This postponement is particulary unfortunate, given the 26th December Oldham Athletic v Scunthorpe United match, the 29th December Barrow v Oldham Athletic match and the January 1st Scunthorpe United v Carlisle United match.

Presumably we are at risk of our matches on the 29th December and 1st January being postponed, which would make it a run of 4 succesive postponements. All we need now is frozen sports pitches all over Cumbria and Covid shut-downs of alternative training facilities to make it our second successive Winter Of Discontent.

At least we have the comforting thought that the Carlisle United 'powers that be' will have surely learned from last winter and will have planned some measures to counter such possibilities that they know can happen.

Given the situation described above and with no fixture yet arranged for Saturday 8th January we could go from 11th December until 15th January without a League Two match.

We could really do with that home match against Bradford City being arranged for Saturday 8th January, even if it would be played with
    a zero crowd.

This may sound harsh but is this not a lack of professionalism?

According to Millen the squad was clear 48 hours ago.

To avoid Covid you get jabbed, wear a mask and keep your distance.

If we can do it surely a professional footballer can.

Our last home match that was actually played was on Saturday 27th November. As yet there is no match scheduled for Saturday 8th January. So as it currently stands our next home match will be on Saturday 15th January.
