    Dens Park

I've swung round from new stadium now.

I kinda went along with campy as it would probably be best for the club and keep Tim Keyes onside, I see it as holding us back.

Really really uncomfortable at the possibility of moving from Dens even for a short period of time especially if in the championship

I'd much prefer to stay now and redevelop as much as possible even if that's not the most profitable thing to do. ...I'm gonna let heart rule head ...I really want to stay at Dens.

Had thought that we needed a new stadium to develop new income streams to support the football side. Will go along with you Rross if you can explain what we might do to generate the extra cash. First thing seems to be artificial pitch so that it can be used much more often than a grass one.

Demolish Derry, new stand full length and up to almost pitch side and height, slope etc to match the ends - build the behind the stand area all the way to the existing boundary with access to the football side at one end only. What could you get in that space behind The Derry?

I asked Nelms about that once and all he could say to dismiss it was the age old 'we don't know what's buried under there'. He's partly right but really what can be so bad that it can't be taken care of? Not like there's going to be any nuclear waste is it? Most likely slag, grit and ash with worst case maybe some asbestos from old factories but let's perpetuate the myth of some really dodgy material or whatever being there. Even if there was some material needing special disposal what would it cost in terms of the overall build?

What do people think Nelms' reaction was to a suggestion of doing cores to find out what was there?

Don't like artificial turf but I'd bite your hand off if that cud help us stay at Dens.

As I say I don't know how we do it.....it's very much a heart thing......it may even take a change of ownership for it to happen

You can still miss something - clearly just not interested in exploring that option.

AHH right, thought it was something.

That's why I think a change of ownership maybe the only way.

Why not encourage the existing owners to look at new options for Dens? Deecom I think had schemes that used the max footprint of Dens but he got very little support from posters on here. I think public transport might actually be a big plus for the Dens Road site. Maybe actually look at the population who make up the local community. 5 Ways Club is it still in existence? Did the dog track ever make money? Get youths and ladies teams playing at Dens.

That wasn't Deecom it was Mad Boab and his ideas were rightly ridiculed on here.

I called him out once on one of his big ideas to get X number of fans to put in X amount of cash and he would sort out all the woes. I offered him ten times his suggested amount and said he should get on with it - not a peep back because every plan he has is cloud cuckoo stuff.

    Not Deecom though.

Thanks Deeranged. Apologies to Deecom. Don't remember a poster called Mad Boab but he did have unique ideas for Dens!
