The first match day of 2022 arrives with the visit of the Hollywood-owned outfit from North East Wales. With Notts having suffered a Covid outbreak of unspecified scale over the Christmas period it will be interesting to see who, if anyone, is missing from the 'first choice' starting line-up. Was it a case of mind games from IB or will we be a shadow of our usual side?

Having been the victims of a late postponement at Kings Lynn last time out, we'll all be hoping the 'Pies are not ring-rusty and are ready to come out of the corner on the front foot against the National League big spenders.

The bookies apparently have Wrexham as slight favourites to take the points but with Notts outstanding home form anything could happen. Here's hoping the Mighty Pies can bring the dragons back down to earth and climb the table. The World's Oldest Professional Football Club against the oldest pro club in the principality... game on.

Team news at 2:00pm, and it could be interesting. COYP!

On this day 40 years ago it was the FA Cup 3rd round, Wrexham (including Mick Vinter in the no.10 jersey) were away to Fword... Wrexham won 3-1!!! Our home tie with Aston Villa that same afternoon was called off due to the snow/frozen pitch (Fword had originally switched to Friday but then moved it back to Saturday, don't think they had undersoil heating then so god knows how they got their game on and we didn't).

Surely the most highly anticipated and hardest to predict starting XI this season?

Let's find out who plays and who isolates.

Given all the hype about players missing that’s a pretty strong side.

A strong starting eleven, but only four on the bench, including Slocombe.

Sparse bench. Slocombe to replace Wootton and score a 95th minute winner ?
