If the pitch is 'totally unplayable' then it is highly unlikely to have deteriorated to that state in the space of the last two hours.

Whether it's down to Dover not forewarning the officials, or lazy officials not being bothered to get down there and conduct an earlier inspection, it shows a complete disregard for travelling fans making such a long journey. King's Lynn was bad enough, but this is scandalous.

A shameful reflection on the National League.
These Clubs are just chancing it that the game will go ahead when there was probably little chance it ever would

If that's the case, we should be chasing Dover for our loses.

    What else can Notts do?

I’m 200+ miles from Dover and even I know it’s been pissing down there for hours.
I now notice 2 hours ago the Official Notts County Twitter posted: 'We've been in contact with @DoverAthletic and there are currently no concerns about the match going ahead. Safe travels to all Pies!'

This would imply wishful and misleading thinking from Dover (who no doubt need the money from the match going ahead), though I'm not sure that this absolves the officials or the league. Given the weather forecast, and the distance away fans had to travel, a much earlier pitch inspection should surely have been scheduled automatically.

Feel for the fans on another fruitless long journey. Notts should take this further if possible.

Days like today lead you back to thoughts of the circumstances and individuals that led the Magpies into the grip and environs of this dire and amateurish league. What a disaster that truly was.

There should be an investigation by the league and the points and costs from both games awarded to Notts as a deterrent to other clubs.

Dover are a joke and have completely treated Notts and our fans (travelling) with disdain.
Advising the club a couple of hours ago that they had no concerns. Ref rocks up and sends everyone home with the pitch unplayable.
We have no hope of recouping losses from Dover. It would be a bit like asking a homeless person for £20. The best way IMO is to completely disregard this fixture and not give Dover a penny of our hard earned money. I know there will be those who think that would harm our team, it wouldn’t as Dover will hardly have a partisan following that could intimidate our side. Dover haven’t even apologised to any fans (ours or there’s).
    Joke club

Maybe we can donate them some pitchforks and whilst we are feeling generous perhaps a lawnmower.

Yeah. Imagine it was Chesterfield instead of Notts and they were awarded the points. Would you stand by that outcome?
