We've got to pick up three points tomorrow, no matter how we play, but our away form is nothing special so far - let's hope we can sort this out in the same way we've been improving at home. If it's on, this will be our first away game since Boreham Wood on Nov. 23 - crazy.

I'll go for a slightly nervy 2-1 to the mighty magpies with goals from the two Kyles.

Further inspections may follow later in the day at Mr Whitton's discretion, particularly if heavy rain is forecasted, and we will keep supporters fully updated.

Begs the question as to why they couldn't have done this the first time, when rain was forecasted

The Linnets - beautiful plumage but bereft of life.

A lin,or Celtic llyn, refers to a body of water or lake, the area being estuarial tidal flats. The Domesday Book also references partitioned pools [fish farming ?] in the area of Lena. Initially known as Bishop's Lynn, being in the Bishop's of Norwich's see,Henry VIII appropriated the town to the Crown with subsequent name change.
A plausible alternative derivation is from the Saxon 'lean' - a tenure on a farm.

If some enterprising club founder hadn't nailed it to the perch it would be pushing up the daisies.

Tough call for the ref - likely to have more rain overnight and at the time of inspection.

What? An early pitch inspection, dialogue between both clubs, the National League, and the referee???

All of this suggests a bit of respect for fans. Must be too good to be true.
