RIP Colin.
Absolutely devastated.
Legend of the club as we all know he did so much for this club, way beyond what could ever be expected.
A true gent and will be missed by everyone.
God bless you Uncle Colin and thank you.
RIP Colin.
As Colin walks through the Pearly Gates heaven’s joy “knows no bounds”. Thanks for the memories Sir Colin and rest in peace.
I had the pleasure of being Colin's guest on 3 occasions, to sit alongside him and Dean Yates in the commentary box at away games. He was such a nice man who was genuinely interested in other people and always had time to listen. He was very charming with impeccable manners, a true gentleman.
The best tribute to Colin would be to win promotion back to the football league.
Colin Slater to us older generation truly was Mr Notts County, R.I.P Uncle Colin, gone but never forgotten.
Now we are talking a genuine Notts County Legend that will never be forgotten.
Gonna miss "Goal for Notts..... {Insert scorers name}" , "Notts two to the good" and all those "Flag kick to Notts".
Thanks for the memories Uncle Colin..
R.I.P.

A minute's silence will take place ahead of the game against Eastleigh at Meadow Lane on Saturday

I've tried to get to ML as often as I can since first going in 69/70. Through the 90's though it was difficult as had 2 small children to look after and my wife working shifts, so Saturday afternoons with Uncle Colin became the norm, including the 2 play off finals listened to with great pleasure with the radio on full in the garden. An absolute Club legend, and a credit to his profession. Rest in peace Colin.
The biggest service we could pay to Colin is to gain promotion this season and get us back to where we were when he commentated.
If he is now where we think he is, he will get a different angle on those "High dropping balls"
BBC Radio Nottingham are running a live tribute show all this evening which you can hear on BBC Sounds at this link. I'm going to listen from the start (you can rewind it)

Really sad news, for someone of my age it seems like a little bit of Notts County has gone forever. He did so much more than just report, in our darkest hours he more than played his part in keeping the club alive. I just hope we have a minutes silence rather than applause at Meadow Lane to mark his passing, as I’m sure that would bring a tear to my eye.
