People are unwilling to think there is nothing else that is why they use different religions as a crutch to cling to.
No-one can say for certain if there is or is not something after death. I am a person of faith and certainly do not us my Christian Religion as a crutch but as something that enhances my life. At the end of the day if I have got it wrong then I ain't gonna know that I was wrong. But if I am correct then people who laugh at religion and people's beliefs have got a huge shock in store.

Regardless of the age they actually reached, if any of these people is now on their own they are women, in every single case including my mum’s own situation it’s the men that dropped off the perch first.

There isn’t a single lone, widowed male amongst all of these long term neighbours.

My dad dies first, his dad died well before his mum and my mum’s dad went nearly 20 years before her mum.

My wife is 5 years older than me but her dad has actually outlived her mum who dies at 85 and he’s now 92 so I expect she’ll outlive me.

Enjoy your evening, hopefully you’ll be around to post tomorrow.
Mick, when you do maintenance/carpentry as I did for a while in old folks homes it is a glaring fact. 40 women 1 man, Same story everywhere. It hit me the first time I visited.

Well on that bases then for thousands of years we thought the Universe was static....Einstein even made his biggest blunder based on his belief that the Universe was static....That appeared to be the evidence until Mr Hubble begged to differ....and even then Einstein still lifted out of it a Jesuit priest who implied by his own math that the Universe had to have had a start...
A crutch is used to give stability, where it is needed and for as long as it is needed...and no more...
Religions are falling apart in our modern society today because it is not needed....there is now more then enough evidence for the individual to come to their own conclusions on the matter...The information is there to go check for the self......

So finding dead bodies is not evidence that nothing happens after you die...it just means the material used to hold you together...put together by nature and evolution has finished.....the electric circuit is cut....and the body falls to the ground.......but at least we now know that over 95% of the Universe is unknown and still no evidence for dark matter/energy......but it is inferred from other data sets out there..........so much more to be uncovered

Sorry if I have offended anyone, that was not my intention.
I just base my belief on science and logic.
Everything in nature is there for a reason, there is a food chain. The strong eat the weak. We are just another part of nature, we are a weak animal but nature gave us a bigger brain than others. That guaranteed our survival in a cruel world.
But we are newcomers to the planet, dinosaurs were here for 140 million years and the earth was billions of years old then.
Man's arrogance makes us believe we are different from other forms of life, we aren't, we are just another species of Ape.
What happens to all the animals that die? Do they get another go?
Logically everything is here for a purpose. Sitting around for ever in a nice garden isn't logical.
One thing that I wouldn't rule out however is reincarnation, everything is recycled, even the star's, so there is no reason to believe that we won't be recycled as well. But we won't come back as us, we could come back as another form of life.
When we are gone we are gone.
