Yes we all know that, still don’t think it would be a good move to take the captaincy off him, the way things are at the moment. Like I said Trippier will be a good lieutenant, but with no title.

Let him keep the captaincy but please Mr Howe don’t play him in the team if your attempting to avoid relegation

The problem with this logic is that he would have to be on the pitch. Anywhere else, he would be benched after a performance like today (and long before that, mind).

IMHO, the only thing that could slightly make up for this is going out in splashing the cash on Batman. We still need more up front because you could see the difference that having more positivity in attack means. But Wood cannot be the sole answer.

I actually think we are fine in midfield. JoLo, as long as he doesn't get injured, is a midfield general. There is some pace and creativity there.

We still need to score more - I can see Wood is worth a goal in a game - because I have more chance of getting a shag off a Kardashian (and I don't mean Rob ) than us keeping a clean sheet so scoring 1 goal ain't going to cut it.

And you might as well have a cardboard cutout of a new CB than Lascelles - at least the cutout would get pushed over (a foul) and would have more defensive touches by just having the ball bounce off it. It could lie on the floor when they're forming a wall and just do an all-round better job.

There are very few manangers - I can't think of any to be honest - that would bench the club captain.
