It discovers obvious evidence of life going on on some far distant planet?

If it does, and there’s an obvious possibility that it could, then what do we as a species do?

Personally, I think we need to be very, very careful!

I’m all for knowing that there is something else out there and I think it’s impossible that there isn’t life on other planets, the numbers of Sun’s and planets makes it highly likely that Earth’s conditions are replicated elsewhere.

But......I’m happy just to know, I don’t think we should be waving and saying “Yoo Hoo” to Aliens.

I’d rather we just stayed in our own little corner of the Universe and kept our heads down.

I must admit, I am greatly looking forward to seeing the photographs that start coming back from this magnificent piece of human ingenuity.

The other interesting thing about this launch is its placement....where as Hubble was only a few hundreds of mile straight up......the JWT i going approximately 1.5 million miles into place....When Hubble was tested after deployment and programming.....they discovered the giant mirror was not polished enough to give crystal clear images....So the space shuttle was used to transport a new mirror and personnel to refit it properly.....

Wont be able to get at it as quickly this time...so if one of those gold mirrors doesn't open....it could become a huge engineering task if even possible to fix at that distance...So you can see why it will take 6 moths to get started....but high hopes after that...
