    Matchday Thread: Rams v Blades

Should have won at theirs earlier in the season. Hopefully a 2-1 win. I hope the eejits in the stands don't repeat the chants aimed at Sharp. It only serves to further motivate him.

This week's referee is Mr Scott. The same Mr Scott who reffed us in the 1-0 away defeat to Brizzle.

Here's a paragraph I wrote on him elsewhere following the Ashton gate game.

The ref? 2/10 may well be a tad generous. How many times was Ebosele tugged at without getting a free kick? On the other hand, the lad would have been booked by many a ref for persistent fouling. The Kalas yellow for his foul on Festy? Definitely a foul but not a yellow IMO. Didn't see what Knight was booked for so can't comment but I would not have carded Fozzy for the foul. It took the ref 90 seconds and chats with 10 different players prior to the Kalas yellow.
I sincerely hope he does better this time..... he could hardly do worse.

Remember a night match against the Blades from a similar time of year 18 years ago in 2004.
It was a ‘must win’ match that was in doubt as a result of heavy afternoon snow making conditions around the stadium treacherous.
The crowd was, if memory serves, relatively low but the atmosphere was PP at it’s best.
Against the odds we won 2-0, largely as a result of Leon Osman’s drive and leadership.
How we could do with another loan signing like that, and the same result would be more than welcome too.

Here's hoping that the impending return of Bielik in about 2 weeks will have the same effect Leon's loan had.

Without Forest winning today we'd have been above them had it not been for those 21 points, got to give it to the players they just keep pulling something out the bag, won't be pretty sometimes but 3 points are 3 points - they all add up the same at the end of the season, you can see why the EFL want to deduct another 15 points

Great effort...great performance in the face of adversity.
Losing two crucial players in 24 hours and still they battle on. Nothing but admiration for this squad and complete contempt for Middlesbrough.
