Well we’ve beaten them once this season, trying to be optimistic, but we are lacking match fitness.
On Saturday we travel to the John Smiths Stadium to play Huddersfield Town. It’s a fair old way, located in West Yorkshire, it’s 15 miles south-west of Leeds and a 432 mile round trip from Swansea.
Last February the Terriers completed the double over us winning the home fixture 4-1 in a shock win when they were 23rd in the form table and the Swans were 1st, gaining their first win of the year in what was the Swans worst performance of the season.
This season the positions are reversed, they sit in 6th place in the league table, in top form, and we are the lowly side in 17th place.
After the humiliating home defeat five weeks ago against Forest, this will be the first league game since then after four postponements.
Last week we played Southampton in the FA Cup and the same defensive mistakes were apparent again, so not much hope for tomorrow with fans moral low after four straight defeats.
Well we’ve beaten them once this season, trying to be optimistic, but we are lacking match fitness.
I can’t see anything but a defeat, sorry guys, obviously hoping I’m proved wrong!
Paterson is reported by one forum to be unavailable due to illness which is a blow if true as he is our second leading goal scorer.
New signings wing-back Cyrus Christie and goalkeeper Andy Fisher are both available for selection.
Swans:
Ben Hamer, Ben Cabango, Kyle Naughton, Ryan Manning, Cyrus Christie, Flynn Downes, Matt Grimes (c), Joel Latibeaudiere, Korey Smith, Olivier Ntcham, Joel Piroe
Subs: Andy Fisher, Ryan Bennett, Jay Fulton, Michael Obafemi, Kyle Joseph, Liam Walsh, Azeem Abdulai
Going as expected......
HT: Huddersfield 1 Swansea 0
After having a goal disallowed on 5 mins for offside, it took another 10 mins and two great saves from Hamer for the Terriers to score, Sinani with a close range shot.
After a shaky start where Hamer saved us with some great stops it was a brilliant fight back from Swansea in the second half, they dominated Huddersfield, and scored a 78’ equaliser from Downes.
An amazing 18 shots on goal, 11 on target, how did we not win that game!!
Great match, 1200 away fans, only heard on the radio but it was end to end stuff, looking forward to the highlights
