Play in an old mans league (over 60) and there is no offside. Candidly, it's not good for the game.

However, I score a lot more goals. It's counterintuitive. some of the teams have so many people camped up front that I moved back to sweep. Occasionally I'll take the ball all the way up and score. Once you are through the forwards/mids it's wide open field. Takes me 5-10 minutes to recover from a simple 80 yard run so I really think long and hard about it.

Don't like VAR or refs that think they are the reason someone comes to a game but think this is a rule that has to stay in effect and simple (2 defenders).

Keepers dilemma Spaldy, you strolling around strikers whatever age.

Real Sociedad’s Januzaj received a pass a few yards out from Real Madrid’s penalty area. The Belgian sized himself up and fired a low, hopping attempt at the visiting team’s goal. Thibaut Courtois, who was in goal for Real Madrid made an attempt to stop the shot but failed to stretch his body far enough. For a brief moment, it looked like Real Sociedad had scored.

So why wasn’t anyone celebrating ?

Cos Ref Fernández & his 'pitch refereeing team' had ruled out the goal as they had noticed Real Sociedad’s Merino in an offside position & they believed Merino encroached on Courtois’ ability to see Januzaj’s shot. For that reason, he voided the goal.

Watched Bamford master this tactical ploy to perfection over the seasons impeding a keepers view & causing interference & distraction via his off ball box movements to allow our wingers/attacking mid's attempt shots. Meslier adopts a differing stance in such situations, keeping low ready to dive rather than Courtois 'on his toes' technique.Whatever disciplined, focused-concentration required by all on pitch for sure until final whistle.

Rewatched the VAR decision and much as it pains me to say it - it was probably right and Rodrigo should have carried on running into the net rather than moaning at Rapha for not passing to him.

I bet Klich will be giving him a fair bit of grief.
