Thread: Covid deaths food for thought

    I've never believed the covid death figures, having covid and it being the major cause of death are two very different things.
    The first time around it was mainly the old and frail who made up the figures the thing is the old and frail die every year be it pneumonia etc.

    Very true.

    Over here some 15-16 000 are in the Corona death toll - but research have shown that some 10-15% of them died directly from Covid…

    Prepositions are important, ”with” or ”from”.

    Had I been run over by a bus when I had C-19 in April last year (walk in the park for me), I’d be in the Corona statistics…

    That is why excess death data has always been so important.

    England has had roughly 127,000 excess deaths in the period since March 2020, as compared to the average of the 5 previous years.

    No data is perfect but that one is very telling.

    We are pretty much ”on par”.

    Given also the very important circumstance that the seasonal flu in 2019 by us was almost ”non existant” - ”leaving many vulnerable people alive”, and then come pandemic…

    If I’m not totally wrong GB had the same ”non existant flu” in 2019?
