Becasue they know we're desperate, so they want us to pay for him rather than loan him.

We are desperate and should pay for him. Play him further up and drop our star man "The NEW JoLo" deeper in midfield to battle and drop Shelvey down a hole.

He can't be that costly in terms of the transfer fee? Hasn't started for Man Utd in I don't know how long - but very long.

Sign him up, would be a great signing.

True. They clearly don’t have him in their long term plans as he leaves on a free in the Summer and so they want him off the books now.
If he wants to come I think we’ll get him for a reasonable price. We need to be looking at alternatives though to put the sh*ts up his agent that he might miss out.

This is the January window - it’s notoriously difficult and agents will be playing the waiting game as usual. I’m glad we’re not throwing money around - it smacks of amateurism and would come back to bite us on the a*se.

    This is spot on.

Seems like some fans are getting too used to a lot of money too quickly, and can't wait to burn them off fast. I'm glad were not spending money senselessly (if that's a word), even though we are in a tough spot right now.

I agree. After 24 years of having a billionaire owner who spent nothing at the club you would’ve thought our fans would know the difference between having a very rich owner and being s very rich club.
I always wince a bit when I read ‘richest club in the world’. We have the richest owners of any club in the world but whether we are the richest club in the world, or not, time will tell.

I agree with Mids on Lingard, though.

Probablem now appears that he only wants a loan and Man Utd only want to sell. . .
