Swansea City v Preston North End

Swansea City v Preston North End, 22nd Jan, 15:00
At last, six weeks to the day of our last home match with fans, we are back this Saturday, it’s been a long time. Don’t forget your Covid Pass though if your going or you won’t get in!
Our visitors are Preston, who are in a good moment form wise.
Ryan Lowe is their new manager, he took over four matches ago and they are unbeaten since then, so we will have to play well to get the win. Last Saturday they drew at home to Sheff Utd. They went two goals down, one goal through a sending off with a penalty, but in a spirited fight back scored two late goals to draw the game 2-2.
Swans need to replicate their second half comeback at Huddersfield and reverse their slump in form if they are to get much needed points on board and make the matches in hand count. Priority is to tighten our defence and score from the many chances created. We should have won that Huddersfield match with eigh**** shots on goal.

    Full time: Swansea 1 (Manning 51’) - Preston 0
A tough and hard fought match as expected with a Ryan Mannings long range screamer of a shot separating the sides.
Several chances with Piroe one on one with their goalkeeper and another long range shot from Manning turned round the post and a Christie shot where Iversen was at full stretch to save.
Poor first half as both sides cancelled each other out, but start of the second half Wolf came on for his debut, Ntcham giving way.
The ref made same strange decisions, turned down a Swans penalty shout when Latibeaudiere was fouled in the box, and reacted to fans chanting the usual ditties when a ref has a bad game by giving most decisions in Preston’s favour.
A much needed win with two hard away games coming up.

Relieved to get the win in the end. Christie looks a good addition, two great shots on target. Wolf had one shot saved, and is another signing who is going to improve the squad.
So we have a Wolf and a Rhino in the team now (Mannings goal celebration) -

Well boys a deserved win I thought, 10 shots, 4 on target, good saves by their goalkeeper Iversen.
Poor and inconsistent refereeing spoilt the game a bit.
We need better service to Piroe and are missing Paterson, who linked well with him. Perhaps the Wolf will be the answer once he’s settled in.
