    +We kept a clean sheet
    +Maxi was less selfish
+Lascelles decided to defend for once
+Longstaff didn't keep giving the ball away all the time
+Still 9 days of the transfer window left to strengthen the team
+Potential new signings may have watched that display and been impressed with our work ethic
+We've got Everton next at St.James' and they are in disarray right now

I was impressed by Frazer's 100% effort, he was so 'kin knackered towards the end I thought EH would have replaced him with Almiron or Murphy. Credit where it's due.

Agreed Frazer's work rate was really impressive. He couldn't be replaced though i think because Longstaff, Clark and Manquillo had already come on

We are not cut adrift with about a quarter of the window still open.

    Mitchel Bakker

I know, I know… another hour passes and another player is linked. No idea if he’s any good or not but if he’s decent and there’s any truth in this one, I like the way he has a few secondary positions after his main position of left back so should be able to adapt to various formations or in-game changes. £16M apparently.

    From the BBC:

Howe said: "Today we learned that there's a resilience in the team. They are fighting for each other and fighting for the club.

"They have belief that we're not dead and buried and there's more to come. I'm so pleased for everybody connected with Newcastle that we won the game. It was a big match and hopefully it can transform our season."

I think Fraser was much better against Watford. Hes work on the ball today was rather poor. Hes work ethic, and work off the ball, was splendid.

With our job done for the weekend we can sit back and watch Arsenal hopefully smash Burnley at the Emirates tomorrow
