Happy to leave the ground smiling !

Notwithstanding a poor Posh side, all our lot played well. Somehow, maybe linked to the Dike transfer, they showed commitment, spirit and clearly a desire to win! Attributes that have sadly been lacking recently. Essential this motivation is maintained on Wednesday.
Great to see Diangana back showing a return to his better form.
Undoubtedly Townsend and Furlong’s better performances contributed.
OK a very poor Peterborough side, but let’s accentuate the positive and avoid the negative.

It's dangerous for the elderly to be walking around constantly smiling, people tend to think......"senile!".

Whatever you are drinking it must be good! We were awful, 5 at the back plus 2 holding midfield players, to slow to move the ball forward allowing a really bad Posh to defend deep, hopeful balls hit into the box with no real thought as to the recipient and the only player with the ability to take the man on and beat him only coming on as a sub and played on the wrong side. We would be so much better with a pragmatic manager, the football is boring, predictable and frankly the sooner he goes the better.

I drink Italian red Dave buddy ! Sadly not until I got home after the game !!
There was indeed many hopeful balls into the box…interestingly recording 30 shots !
My plaudits surrounded an evident commitment from the players and desire to win. There was more spirit shown throughout the all team than in recent games. I’m prepared to accept players’ mistakes and shortcomings, but I expect to see dedication and drive. I saw that yesterday.
PS I do have a regular Guinness!

I feel that the problem that we have to contend with is that most teams come to the Hawthorns and 'park the bus'. Therefore, it is important that we score as early as possible in games. Once we score it means that their game plan is scuppered as sides have to open up in order to equalise. This happened yesterday because as soon as we scored, although late on, gaps appeared and we took full advantage.

I thought they pressed well and had an energy about them but oh dear oh dear......come close to the opponent's goal and they lose their shape and composure.....ratio of chances created and chances taken is still abysmal.
That is most important...and needs to improve dramatically....

So I guess the vociferous anti-Val chants must have been wrong. We got lucky because for 78 minutes it was aimless garbage

So so simple to fix IMO, start with an extra attacking midfielder, loose one of the 2 defensive midfielders and go 4-5-1 with the emphasis of 4 of the 5 in midfield being forward thinking, say Diangana, Robinson, Grant, Philips (or one of the kids) Dike up top and Mowat/Livermore as defensive midfielder.
