    Substitutes

I'm confused! Does anybody know what the current (Jan 2022) rules are for the number of substitutes allowed in a Championship league game? I've read so many changes and variations since this Covid thing started that I've lost sight of where things now stand.

I thought the latest was that up to 3 "normal" substitutes were allowed, plus up to 2 "concussion" substitues. But against Posh we sent on 4 substitutes. So who was declared to have been "concussed"? Posh clearly had a concussion injury in Edwards, but who was ours? Did Dike have a "concussed hamstring"?

So what have I missed - another change in the rules? Clarke, Phillips or Grant suffering a head injury? Or...?

If a concussion sub is used by one side, that side has an extra sub. If they don't use that extra sub it's down to them but activation of the extra sub means we get one too. And we used it. I hope I've explained that properly but I know what I mean even if you don't 😊 .

Didn't know that rule. Makes sense though.

Ah - makes sense now. None of the references I found, including the EFL's official rules, mentioned that little wrinkle.

    Thanks!
