SNP are the Scottish establishment authoritarian elite.I think we are a cantankerous bunch. We are the only city to have been sacked -twice- and there is more military history in Dundee than Edinburgh Castle. We always support the underdog in preference to going with the superior force because we know that supporting the superior force have done nothing for us in the past so why not "twist".
Most people think that the SNP is a way of sticking two fingers up to Westminster and they see the SNP as a protest vote. I think that's fine for Westminster but it is not at all the case at Holyrood. At present we are getting some support from Holyrood via the creation of Scottish government jobs opposite the V&A Museum and the Tay Cities Deal. It will be interesting to see how the SNP at Holyrood and their Green colleagues respond to their refusal to use the fossil fuel resources in the North Sea. Energy prices are rising and we must be mad to think that not developing carbon capture technology is a sensible polcy, not using the north Sea fossil fuel resources to create fuel security in the short term until the wind farms come into being is also mad, IMO.
SNP have sold off the seabed for £700m. Will they ring fence that money and create a Wealth fund along the lines of the Norwegian one? I don't think they have even thought about it. Bribes for the young with a free bus pass to buy independence and then once they achieved their dream they can retire as heroes of the republic and leave the rest of use to struggle.
The only good thing is that many who vote SNP do not want independence and should there be another referendum they need to be much farther ahead in the polls, IMO.
We need to remind all politicians that they are not our masters. We choose to let them act on our behalf and perhaps it's time to remind local councillors that being SNP supporting might not be a winning plan if they support the rise of a dictatorship.
