Not so much underwhelmed, Picasso mate, more of a shock signing really.

He’s a very safe signing. Back up right-sided CB, free, can play RB if Kessler is injured and Cash heads off to Atletico in the summer (as comically mentioned in the usual dodgy circles today).

Although probably not as talented, I’d say that he's more experienced (European football) than all of our other CBs. Will know Em1 well enough, so if ever needed, he should slot in ok.

He will improve the squad but not the 1st 11. Well not yet anyway. Talented lad though and potentially could improve considerably if that makes sence. 🤔

He covers pretty much anywhere across the back four, SG said we needed to replace Zebby, thats what he has done, the crucial differences though are, he is ours so not doing another clubs job, he has played as an England international at all levels so he must be at least decent, he is the right age to be coming into his best as a defender, and he was free, so if Gerrard and the rest of the coaching staff can bring him back up to speed we either improve our defence, or sell for a profit as he is now on a 3yr? contract. I guess the big question is who ran down the contract, him or the Arse?
