I feel like Targett deserves his own thread... He has been excellent since coming in, and I think we'd do very well to sign him permanently at the end of the season. I know he isn't a spectacular player, but he's more than just a solid platform to build on too.

The reality is that, if we stay up, we're in for a tough summer window because we'll (surely!) be trying to sign a top class striker. That will be expensive, there'll be lots of competition, and because we won't have European football we'll have to persuade the signing that it's a good project to get involved with - probably with a high salary and bonuses. So, Targett at a reasonable price would solve the ongoing problem of not having had a decent left back since Jose Enrique left, and would allow us to focus our scouting attention on other areas of the pitch.

He also seems to be enjoying his time here. My mate is a Villa fan, and he suggested that the fans had started to scapegoat him somewhat at Villa. Getting a little bit of love here seems to have rebuilt his confidence in no time at all, and he has been a significant factor in our recent revival.

Targett is the best left fullback we've had for many a year I think, calm and confident on the ball, hope he stays.

I doubt he will want to go back to villa with Digne first choice an offer of 16-18million would be fair. We look so much more solid with a quality left back in the team.

Hopefully there's a clause in there somewhere. I'm pretty sure Villa saw him as a fringe player, otherwise they wouldn't have loaned him out to us in the first place.

He was first choice till the signed Digne.

I hope we get him as well but I think Villa will ask for stupid money.
