    extraordinary - over 500 in 75 overs on the first day of an away test series where traditionally there are low slow scoring tracks. Given the constant shortfall in overs bowled in Pakistan light, I'd have been happy with that score after day 2

    Think they've all got the runs between sessions too, so why break the habit?! Surely a 1st innings declaration is in order?

    Pakistan 181-0 at close. When was the last test when both sides had opening stands in excess of 200? Its almost there..........

    1981 is that record. 745 need to be scored in the second innings to achieve this. Thus we need to score 333 and set them 413 to win, and them to win. Sadly that doesn't look likely at tea, 264-7.
