Hopefully Bairstow and Root, with any necessary help from Stokes and Billings, will see us over the line this morning.
Can’t help wonder if we might still pay the price of THAT over from Broad.

Doesn't look like it rA, Root giving a masterclass with even Bairstow standing back in awe! Unbelievable performance from this pair, only 22 now needed so it's series level!
Bairstow now got his second hundred of match!
When will I wake up, is this England!!

Root, fittingly, gets the winning run.
    CARNAGE is the only word!
Record chase for England following an outstanding performance from two Yorkies!!
    Congrats England.

Delighted the fears were unfounded, mac. Brilliant stuff from the two Yorkies...and, tbf in this innings, the openers too who set the tone.

Great credit to Joe Root. Losing the captaincy must have hurt but he’s never moaned...just a massively talented humble guy who’s got on with it and let his bat do the talking. Respect!

Can we keep it up against South Africa? Got a ticket for Manchester.

Absolutely brilliant, Bairstow and Root rightly taking the plaudits!

Back to earth with a bump in the white ball game. Crushing...never in it. Harry Brook looked good though.

A bit of a shambles for the most part. Lets hope a change of skipper doesnt have the opposite effect to the test team change

Nothing at all to do with the change of skipper imo. They had the better of the conditions, swung the ball and batted better.

Correct. Not sure if it’s an omen but a falcon just a mouse in the field next to us. Well a red kite actually but close enough
