And Jimmy White v Hendry in all of those Finals. What a shame that White could never win the big one!. 😕

Bart to say same missen Acido. Jimmy was probably the most naturally gifted snooker player ever to grace the game but unfortunately he bottled it a fair few times on the world championship stage. Mind you, a cocktail of cocaine and 20 screwdrivers a night probably didn't help his cause

By the way, what a great read his latest autobiography is. One of the best I've ever read in all honesty. What a top blowk and a great entertainer.

The World Championship semi final between Alex Higgins and Jimmy in 1982 was probably the greatest ever game of snooker. The Whirlwind Vs the Hurricane. Who could forget the 69 clearance by Higgins to make it 15 all. Probably the most unauthodox but greatest clearance of all time under that kind of pressure.

Loved higgins, john virgo used to take players off if anyone can remember did higgins brilliantly, used to tap his cue against table to get exess dust off tip of his cue and speed round table, think he did it on that tv programme big break.
Higgins beat Dracula ray reardon in 80's and wa crying he had so much emotion, always getting in some kind of
    trouble,gazza wa same.

Its a common theme innit where star players in sport were a flawed genius, and drink and drugs really got hold of them.
George Best was another one apparently.
Did anybody see the Bbc film a few years ago about Higgins and the snooker circuit. It suggested he wound his fellow players up and had a punch up with Cliff Thorburn, and he and the rest really couldn't stand Davis.
