in our history with the first being that day in 1997 in Motherwell. On our way to Airdrie now trying to win Queens third trophy. Have a good day Doonhamers 🔵⚪🔵⚪⚽️

Played well in the first half and out of luck with the woodwork coming to Raith's rescue 3 or 4 times but to be honest we lacked a cutting edge and imo Ally Roy should have scored a couple before his 48th minute equaliser. Heads went down a bit after Rovers' second scored by the excellent Poplatnik and there was only one winner from then on but well done lads for getting to the final after the horrible struggle we have had in the league this season.

We are getting edged out all over the park. Very small margins but enough to get beat by the odd goal most weeks . Fitzpatrick being injured has been a big blow. His creativity badly missed.

I met the Qos legend Alan Davidson outside the ground . I asked him what his best game for Queens was and he immediately said Hearts . I agreed with that entirely as this was the finest display of goalkeeping I had ever seen. Still remember this some 39 years on.

I thought at times we played good quality football and outplayed Raith. It was hard to believe this team are bottom of the league.
Created plenty of goal scoring opportunities but lacked that cutting edge, as mentioned and probably the reason why we are bottom.
Still, didn't help to have a referee who completely ignored Raith's rough house tactics which somehow allowed them to finish with 11 players on the pitch.

And a linesman from Kirkcaldy who’s a self confessed Raith Rovers supporter.

One save in particular was when a Hearts player hit a rocket shot . Davidson's body was horizontal , high in the air and he twisted and tipped the ball over the bar. The best save I have EVER seen by any goalkeeper.

I think Alan Davidson stays in Airdrie. He was the first Queens keeper I remember seeing playing at Palmerston.
