    Retention of players

Its not just a matter of who would you keep ? Its a matter of who would you keep and would they want to drop down a level anyway ? Personally, I have seen far, far worse Queens teams than this but the stats - in black and white - say otherwise. There are some very useful players but for one reason or another we are in a desperate state at the bottom awaiting almost certain relegation. I'll touch on just a couple of reasons for this ( there are others) The introduction of Fitzpatrick was like a breath of fresh air . Inventive , scoring goals and even working hard. When he went down clutching the back of his leg I immediately feared the worse and so it has proved for good reason. Ironically after just scoring a goal as well. Secondly , the lack of even a half decent goalscorer has crippled us and never was a better example than that last night. Time after time working the ball hard up the pitch with some lovely moves only to see finishing of a dreadful standard, truly shocking .

Agree 100 per cent JR but whether we go down or not the recruitment of players must be looked at as quite a few of the players are nowhere good enough including the loan players like Liddle, Gordon etc. Also who is sending / recommending lads from the London area for instance - did Johnston and Clark ever see these players play ?

It's fairly simple. Many games have been like last night's fare. At least as good as, if not better, the other side however can't score goals when on top. Last Sunday and last night are perfect examples. Yes, they run out of steam however should he been out of sight in both games as well as many others this season.

Back to the simple part, strikers should score goals, it's their job. I would never have a go at someone for being not good enough however some of the finishing has been incompetent at best which is shocking for paid footballers at that level

I've been disappointed at the return of Lee Connelly since his injury lay off. He seemed to be on fire early in the season, unless Gibson is playing him in a different position.

I have seen four relegations in my time watching Queens 78-9, 81-2, 88-9 and 11-12. The difference is that this team now is far better than any of those seasons I mentioned. I still hope upon hope that something can he pulled out of the fire in the last 4 games as they aren't nearly as bad as the scores would suggest.

Indeed Queens have been relegated 7 times in their history so far:
    1949-50 from Division A
    1958-59 from Division 1
    1963-64 from Division 1
    1978-79 from First Division
    1981-82 from First Division
    1988-89 from First Division
    2011-12 from First Division

    2021-22 ??

Let’s hope so after 5 straight league defeats in a row.
