Yes I agree. And what a difficult game to bring such inexperienced players in. Can't imagine it's done the players any good at all getting hit for 7.
Keith Hill "they haven't been promoted today because they beat us 7 - 0"
Of course they have! If they had won 6-0 or less Northampton would have gone up.
Disgraceful lack of respect in my opinion.
I would also be fuming if I was a Northampton fan. I wouldn't be happy if I was a Scunny fan either. Whatever happened to "go down fighting"?

Had we lost at Sunderland we would have gone into the game at Gillingham in exactly the same situation as Northamton/Bristol Rovers with MK having to better our last day by 5 goals to pip us on GD/GS. It would have been even more squeaky than it was when they were 5-0 up and we were just at 1-0. How would we have reacted if Plymouth had lost 7-0 at home? Couldn't really blame them as they were hurting themselves.
Scunny have had an abject season and so losing 7-0 on the last day just tops that off. Fulham have had an excellent season but they capitulated to a 4-0 defeat at Bramall Lane yesterday that could have been instrumental in 'Boro missing out but fortunately it didn't. Just goes to show that last day 'strange' results are not out of the question after a 46+ game season and players minds are elsewhere.
Yes, I was saying IF 'Boro had won then the 4-0 drubbing Fulham suffered at Bramall Lane WOULD have mattered because had Fulham 'played to their best' and beaten Sheff Utd (remember they beat Luton 7-0 earlier in the week) then 'Boro COULD have been in the playoffs. Fortunately it was all moot.
Northampton are now lodging a formal complaint to the EFL over Scu.nthorpes team selection

"Northampton Town plan to lodge a formal complaint with the English Football League because they believe S****horpe United’s team selection at Bristol Rovers compromised the integrity of the final day in League Two, which saw Rovers beat Northampton to the final automatic promotion place on goals scored..."
EFL should make sure that a full stench side is to be played where possible, they’ve been vocal in that in certain cup games haven’t they.
Tbf I’d want our club to look into it if it was us.
I was enjoying the final day of L2 but didn’t realise about the youngsters until later, was there a valid reason?
