Long really ran his socks off and pressed. Williams, playing out of position at LB did a wonderful job despite having a slight wobbly spell in the 1st half. Ainley showed up a little more in his natural position. Lowery worked hard but was too deep. Harper made an assured start but started to hide when Wimbledon scored their goal but 'reappeared' for the second half. Finney and Kashket made little impact.
We scored 3 well-taken goals. The first was their mistake but at least we had a player up to take advantage. Mandron was very calm taking round the keeper. Sambou also kept his head to score at the second attempt. Along a similar theme, Long calmly slotted his goal in from an acute angle instead of lashing at it. With the right support Long may be a major goalscorer in L2 next season. Lundstram looked uncomfortable at RB. Richards was competent enough though did get caught back-pedalling a couple of times instead of coming to collect a long through ball.
Not a great performance BUT great to win and to manage 3 (THREE!) goals in a game. Would be happy to see us repeat that a couple of times before the end of the season.
Pretty much my view too Gazan - started on the front foot, trying to attack (and I see we had over 20 shots in the game). pegged back - should it have been a free kick to us when they robbed the ball from Lowery? (Still a worldie of a shot.) Helpful pass from the goalscorer to get us back in, then they reacted exactly as we might have done with the 2nd soon after - wouldn't have been surprised if we'd got a 3rd quickly as well. They were desperate late on so the extra margin we've often lost by chasing an equalizer this season went our way.

Nice to see us playing 4 at the back even though neither full back was a specialist in that position - I thought Lundstrom was better than you did probably.

So nice to go home with a win after the game!

Very pleased and surprised by the turnaround. I did not see the match and the performance will do Morris and Bell no harm if they want the managerial posts full-time. I suspect that is what the Board would really like and, if yesterday's improvement is sustained during the last three matches, they may well save the Board from advertising and interviewing for the posts. Still it is interesting to read that Walker and Cochrane were at the match. A coincidence? I am still not 100% behind the idea of yet another appointment from within the Academy, but Morris and Bell are certainly in the frame at present.
