The responsibility for next season will pass firmly to Messrs Morris and Bell. The Board will, I am certain, soon announce that their interim status will become full-time. The quality of player recruitment must improve and, whilst the Board always finds money for further staff, let us hope that the two recruitment specialists deliver. There is the nucleus of a decent team but an experienced spine is required and I remain sceptical of Richards despite Morris's lavish praise. If we can persuade Mandron and Lowery to sign then that would be excellent business for the club.

Lowery definitely not going to sign. You don't take the stance he did at the beginning of the season if you intend to stay. Mandron is a different prospect. However, a man who was mentioned by league one front runners is liable to be tempted away.
We need to let these players go and concentrate on rebuilding around the nucleus of youngsters we have. However, as mentioned above, we will need a completely new spine through the team. Unusually, we also seem to be short in midfield. So that is at least 6 experienced heads we need recruited for next season. Just to be clear, that is 'at least' and 'experienced' so that is not counting any younger loanees we may need for backup.

Sorry, also to make it clear, that spine clearly includes a goalkeeper who will force Richards into remaining a number 2 goalkeeper

We need 'Pro' football players not 'kids' This is why we have one of the worst records ever. But some are right in we will go once again with babies in the team. Both GK's need to go asap. If you want to watch kids play, go to RH to watch them for nothing!

I will respectfully remind you that prior to this very poor season, our kids got us up the league table in League 2 and then promoted to league 1 followed by a more than respectable season in league 1 where we engineered a top half finish. I don't disagree we need some experience adding to the squad and it was ever thus. Hence the signings of Paul Green, Nicky Hunt and Eddie Nolan. Not to mention the evergreen Chris Porter. But the future of the club is the young players, many of whom have shown much promise even in this season

Thing is, the club has spent possibly 8million pounds over 10 years just to see if two or three are good enough for league football per season when we almost know they cannot be as they are physically inacapable to match most players in L1 and L2 and why they need some years in the first team before they are ready. Second thing is we are not paying decent wages as a result which means even poorer quality players come in. There are thousands of decent players out there that you can see here and now and not have to spend millions in the hope. Of course it could be the PL and FA are subsidizing us with the academy so the cost is neutral which was what Dario said at one time.

Academies are old models now and we should know that by now.

The other problem is we keep appointing kids managers coaches from the academy who's whole experience is with very young players. They can't possibly coach experienced players.

Again, with respect, I dismiss that as rubbish. For a start, in your general postings, coaching is absolutely unnecessary so on that basis it shouldn't matter if their only experience is with kids!

The fact is, the coaching strategy at al levels at the club are the same so graduation to the first team should be seamless. Of course, in reality this is not quite the case as when they come up against experienced players there is a period of adjustment as these lads make the step up. Which is another reason why youngsters are integrated gradually.
To address your point about the wages we play, there is some merit in what you say although I would counter that by citing Porter, Green, Hunt and Nolan who would count as experienced professionals who seemed happy to come here.
