Matchday thread: Rams v. Bristol City

    So, the pressure's off

Will we go out with a bang or a whimper? which ex-Derby player will embarrass us? Is this the start of life without Lawrence?

    Me? 30,000 will watch a 2-0 win

He's already named a weaker side (if that's possible!), giving some lads a go. We should lose, but a bit of positivity with nothing to fight for... 1-0 Derby

    Allsop
    Byrne Stearman Davies Forsyth
    Bird Thompson
    Ebiowei Ravel Watson
    Cybulski

Stears has been a model pro all season getting very little game time but performing well (apart from that 3rd minute red...). Happy he's getting a start.
Fozzy has been about 50/50 this season with Buchanan, he's had 20 League apps plus 3 cup ties this season
Bielik has been off it the last couple of games so him being, probably, on the bench shouldn't be a surprise
Watson. People have been saying for ages "why isn't he in the squad?" Probably got sacrificed, along with Sibs for a few games, in an attempt to stave off relegation for the 23s
Cybulski. First start. Plange is off as, more than likely, is CKR. Time for Bart to have a start and see what he can do.

Some changes but not too many. Pressure is off and they can play with a bit more freedom. WR is playing a reasonable side with an eye on next season. Right thing to do IMO.

    2-1.

Not surprised, Rooney had changed the ide giving game time to players and it must be difficult for the players to still put their bodies on the line for nothing.

Seems to me Rooney will use the remaining games to give players a run out and consider who he would like to keep next season.

Can't blame him, be interesting to see how many of today's 11 will start next season... I'd guess less than half.

One good counter, a giveaway from Stears and caught short going for the equaliser from them. Good cross from Ebiowei and ditto header from Fozzy for ours.

Statistically they had 1/3 possession, 50% more shots and 3.5 times more on target then we did. No complaints from me about losing this one.

Cybulski. Put a header over when that was the most difficult thing to do. Had another attempt go over off his leg when being pulled back by their centre half. Yet another nailed on penalty we didn't get. On the other hand, there was a possible handball that many a ref would have given them.

Stears, his red card game excepted, had his first poor game today.

Watson always looked for the attacking pass which was refreshing.

Ebiowei our MOTM for me. Skinned their defence first half to the extent that, in the 2nd half, when they didn't have 2 men straight on him when he got the ball, they had 3....

I expect a similar starting XI next week.

I think he will give other players game time, he needs to see them play to be able to start the preparations for next season.
