    When I were a lad

    Growing up in the Cotswolds in the early 70s, the Rams were winning the First Division and playing in Europe. At the same time, my local village team would host and beat humble little Forest Green.

    Now look, that same humble side from Nailsworth will host the mighty Rams on an equal league footing next season. The times they are a'changing.

    I saw on FaceAche that today is the anniversary of Dave Mackay's wonderful champions receiving the good news, what a contrast to today's honourable tryers

    Got to admire FGR...I see that in the same way as we have Lara Croft and Millennium Way in Derby the address of the New Lawn Stadium is...Another Way...how apt...and how far removed from MM’s ‘the Derby way’.
