Paul Davis says he believes we are talking to a striker tomorrow. Still think we need another left wing back.

Peterborough are always quoted as doing this like it is sound business sense and works. They have spent 2 of the last 10 seasons in the Championship. We have spent 5 of the last 10 in the Championship.

Not saying you're claiming Peterborough are the model to follow but I've seen it on here a few times, like they are masters in business and always get great deals. I'd suggest they don't based off of those numbers alone.

Last season we would of potentially lost Smith's goals, Ihiekwe's team of the season performances and a number of other players (of varying importance). Yes we may have recruited to the same quality but we very may well not of. Personally I'd take promotion and losing those players that we did, than collect a couple of mil, tops, in transfer fees.

Paul Davis again we haven't offered a loan deal to Lonwijk. Hull our young centre back next season bring him along gradually.

Completely agree MT. Memories like Gillingham and loads of other games last season will go to the grave with us. Priceless.

Tbh miller time. If it wasn't for the goals Smith scored last season and him going to Wednesday I'm sure more than 50% of mm wouldn't give 2 hoots

Yes, i totally agree. But Cheio is a very saleable player, Irish International. Balaser is attracting good offers, Wiles is attracting good £££, if they don't want to be here and play for us then sell them..............we move on, like them......UTM

Chieo is a bit of an enigma to me and I've no idea what his best position is or could be. He's certainly not a wing back and he doesn't seem to be a winger either because, although he's very quick, his crossing is poor.
When he plays in the middle his decision making and finishing are questionable and it always seems as though his legs are working faster than his brain.
If someone offers a couple of million for him I think we would let him go but then, as you say, we would need to invest the money into a proven goal scorer.
I wonder if we would? 🤔
Proven goalscorers at Championship level cost mucho dinero, so the club needs to do a Smith again. Find someone who's out-of-sorts and convert him into a decent striker. Smith was in the third tier, and this is a division higher so it's more difficult admittedly. If it's any consolation, Wednesday had got proven Championship goalscorers coming out of their derrieres and it didn't stop them going down to the pub league. Plip, plop.

Lonwijk looked good, don't understand why we haven't done this, he can play football, Hull doesn't look good enough and for me needs a season in L1 or L2 out on loan.

I haven't seen Lonwijk but anyone who as incl' you haven't said anything negative about him so I'd have thought we'd have signed him on loan it's not like we're over blessed with centre backs a few injuries then we are down to the bones! I'm hoping management feel Hull can make it this season.

    They've let Lonwijk go.............

If we hold on to our star players and stay up it's another £7M?.....then they walk away free we could miss out on several millions but, and it could be more important, we'd lose out of any % and add ons, which could add up to serious money. Wiles has 1 more year plus we can extend it by another year. If he went free, we'd at least get compensation for him............it's a big decision for us, who makes it? We've never been in a position like like before so good luck...................UTM.
