Who is going to defend Allan Saint-Maximin Part two

The man who’s only held back because of the players he has to play with
    Didn’t track back goal 0-1
Headed out for a corner for no reason goal from corner 0-2
Given the ball away so many times and not done anything going forward
    It’s only half time
Time to sit on the bench for two games then go to a better club

I’ve said it before, Almiron, Maxi don’t produce enough over a season to justify being here, a pair of frustrating players, very likeable but I’m afraid I would look for something better than those 2. I would rather Murphy played than Miggy, he tries to make things happen, has a strong shot, and doesn’t stop and backtrack, losing any momentum we had grrrrrrrrr

    Case for the defence:

    --

Talking about tracking back is a load of nonsense. A stat that came up during the match that he takes on more players than anyone else in the entire Premier League. That would make him number one for tracking back in the PL as well.

    --

He needs the bench: 100%. No disagreement there.

    --

I'd be gutted if he is sold. But can understand it if he walks away from the constant moaning. Yes he's sho'ite at the moment. But every team has good players that go through those periods.

He is still one of our best players and when he scores, everyone waxes on about him. There's a reason he's the lead player on every Sky graphic for our team (now replaced by JoLo - LOL).

    --

Give the man a chance and stop trying to hound him oot. Truth be told, Trippier was shoite yesterday too because Grealish ran past him like he wasn't there. Will probably be poor for the rest of the season. Doesn't mean a thing. Maxi hasn't been the same since his injury and needs the bench - not to be sold off.

He is a very good player. Much better than Almiron...sorry.

Agreed with all of that Trini, as I've said in a few posts about him, I think he's burnt out, temporarily, through having to carry a lot of the others first part of the season. And when he's fully fit, having been made to come back early from injury, and E.H. gets him working as E.H. wants him to then we will see some player.

PS, yes he's better than Almiron, but I also rate him too.

If you have ONE player not tracking back, on a regular basis, you can forget about the top 6 or 7.

While Maxi left his man, no arguments there. Have a look at the centre half stood still watching in the middle. Our super captain. That's his job and he didn't do it, but let's put all the blame on Maxi. Seems to be to blame for everything these days.
If he leaves in the Summer I will thank him for what he did over the last couple of seasons. Lads had a rough few month. The new favourites have been here the same length of time and only had a handful of good games but past shìte performances forgotten about.
We all know what Maxi is capable of. We recently won a game on the back of his brilliance. The back heel flick that led to the penalty against Wolves. If we want players with flair to back track then we go back to what Dalglish wanted when he came. We know how that went don't we.

All good points Geordie. All he needs is a good rest without pressure to recharge the batteries, then to come back and slot in to do what he does best.

With more of the team improved now he doesn't need to carry weight on his shoulders.

Lascelles was totally out of position for two of their goals he is a shocking CB

Maxi just jogs back and has no intention of providing any defensive cover. We are a better side with Fraser or Murphy on the pitch.

Agree with Fraser. Been a big miss. Not so sure about Murphy though. Works hard like Almiron with not much of an end product.
