    Fitba Specials

Shunted all over the place but usually too pished to care.

    Best

1974 Hampden Scotland v England ( wide eyed youth taking it all in)

1976 Hampden League Cup Final ( beat lager drinking record on the train)

    Worst

???? Retuning to Aberdeen after yet another win a Tannadice ( frogmarched with everyone else to the station and onto the train despite working in Dundee at the time and staying at a B&B in the hill toon.

Best: Easter Road 3 May 1980. Dancing on the seats, playing air trombone and singing Geno, from Arbroath to Toonser City, fuelled by Olympic level booze intake. Big Jimmy Paterson, Dexys’ actual factual trombone mannie, is a Dons fan. FACT. Pictorial evidence to follow.

Worst: Anfield 1980. Shunted into every siding and loop to give priority to service trains, met at Lime Street and marched to Anfield by an aggressive mounted copper escort. Marched to Lime Street afterwards by the same method. No food, no refreshments, train delayed at every bstd signal. Back in toon around 0600 just in time to see the US election results on TV as Reagan won it. FUUUUUUUCK.

Aye I was on the train to Scouseland that day. I recall on guy fetting lifted on the macrh to the ground. Kucky bugger he was. He ended up getting a lift there.

I remeber what we called the Persil Tickets when Persil had 2 for 1 train tickets. I finished night shift and was straight on the Train to Glasgow for a Hun game. Pi55ed as fart fell asleep on the train on the way home. When I came to I was freezin and surrounded by broken galss on the table. No windows left in the carriage. Happy days.
