Newcastle to trial safe standing 2023-24 season

It's not for me. I have endured it at some away games, ad hoc I might add when fans in front wouldn't sit down but nah it's not for me, must be an age thing

I agree Brin. A backward step.

So you "give up your season ticket, move and then find it's not for you. Then what ?

Wouldn't fancy return to standing myself.
Much prefer to sit nowadays (like Brin it's probably an age thing).

I stand every home game anyway, but I am second row down at back of north stand 😃👍

I would expect the majority on here would favour sitting down at their age of life but I definitely think there's a need for safe standing areas in all stadia. The one thing it would do is give those who want to stand a place to be and so (hopefully) reduce the conflicts that often arise when people end up standing in the seated areas.

Safe standing in the toilets for me, I would not want to stand at a football match now.

Or they make you move so they can instal the new barriers?

    That would go down well

Also there’s a space issue. “ standing barriers” when compared to seats accommodate half of the fans for the same area taken up.

Ok for big grounds like Newcastle but a non starter for grounds like ours
