Liverpool Make £1.75m From Successful Loan Deal This Season

Liverpool have made £1.75m from the successful loan of Nat Phillips to AFC Bournemouth
    this season.
Bournemouth paid a initial £1.5m to bring Phillips on loan to the club, but a clause in the
loan contract, was if Bournemouth gained promotion, a extra fee of £250,000 was to be
    paid to Liverpool.
Liverpool picked up Phillips 5 years since, from Bolton Wanderers academy, Liverpool get
their player back, & a nice little earner.

It goes to show what we are going to be up against next season when Championship teams vying for promotion are willing to pay 3-5x what we've ever paid to buy a player outright to just loan a player for a year.

Maybe this also indicates the theory that loaning clubs build in " our player plays" causes into the loan agreement. Something we might have seen here

Probably the main reason Chelsea used to have about 40 players out on loan every season.
