    FA Cup final

When I was a callow youth this was a big deal. We'd all gather in our local and the landlord would bring down his telly into the tap room and a good afternoon was had by all. Today it just doesn't grab me the same even though I wanted Liverpool to win. It was an OK game, devoid of goals but I just couldn't get excited. Is it me or is it just another instance of football succumbing to money and the big clubs and the rest of us are just disinterested observers?.

I didn’t watch any of it , though I would have preferred Chelsea to win , as I just cannot stand the club or the manager. I watched rugby instead on BT Sport instead. Much more entertaining than the so called Superstars of the Premier League. Apart from our beloved team, my interest in the PL , and all that goes with it, is rapidly disappearing. Even if we stay up, I can’t see my attitude changing. As for todays game, I never even considered it.

This is the kind of stuff you would be watching if they got their wonderful "super League". Big clubs playing out tactical games with each other. Boring, Boring Boring and a reason I have given up watching sterile contests like today. They can keep their big club fest thank you.

    Watched it without getting excited.
The best game of today was the Championship play-off game between the Blades and Forest. A cracking game of football, played as it should be played. The team of officials, with Andre Marriner in charge were excellent and the whole game was played out without VAR offering their opinions. WHy is the Championship so much better to watch than the PL these days?

I watched Mansfield v Northampton. Cracking match with the Stags taking a narrow lead over the Cobblers. Sean Dyche in the crowd with son Max on the Northampton bench.

I was sat outside with the patio doors open, so that I could dash inside as soon as I heard a goal had been scored, so we enjoyed our steak frites and bottle of red undisturbed in the warm sunshine. I glance at the papers this morning and it seems the media have discovered the greatest football team the planet has ever seen. I have my doubts, after all they had 120 minutes to win the game, failed to manage it, couldn't even score a goal in that time and had to resort to pens.

    Big deal.
