Established them back in the championship and were in the play off mix up until the final few games this season .
Managed the club with ownership v fan battles going on in the background especially early on in the job .
Done a magnificent job in my opinion .
He's available having left Blackburn last week .

Money amounts are different now to then but the new board need to make a statement of ambition to excite fans to a similar kind of level to when Allan Clarke arrived at the club and the place was buzzing. I don't know what kind of pond they are able to fish in but this is the key appointment to get right.
